Tent Theatre invites actors to the non-equity open call for 2026 season!
- Open call submissions will be accepted via video only through the online Submittable service as instructed below.
- The audition application opens on Jan. 12, 2026. Submission deadline is Feb. 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
- Tent Theatre encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, abilities and ages, to audition.
First day of rehearsal is June 1, 2026.
Performances run June 17-20 and 22-26.
Mandatory strike on June 27.
Character breakdowns
Seeking four male-identifying and one female-identifying comic actors to play 32 roles. "Around the World in 80 Days," adapted by Mark Brown from the novel by Jules Verne, is set in 1872, beginning in London, and traveling around the world.
Main characters
- Phileas Fogg: A wealthy, impeccably punctual, reserved English gentleman who bets he can circumnavigate the globe in 80 days.
- Jean Passepartout: Fogg's new French valet, energetic, loyal, and often provides comic relief.
- Detective Fix: A Scotland Yard detective who suspects Fogg is a bank robber and follows him, trying to catch him and claim a reward.
- Mrs. Aouda: An Indian princess rescued by Fogg, who joins his party and becomes a love interest.
Audition instructions
To be considered for "Around the World in 80 Days," prepare a one-minute max comic monologue that demonstrates your comic range (physical and character). Begin your video with a slate that includes your name. Complete the actor audition form on Submittable. You will submit a link to your audition video in the audition form.
First day of rehearsal is June 22, 2026.
Performances run July 8-11 and 13-18.
Mandatory strike on July 19.

Seeking six women. Told from the perspective of six young women who come of age in this enigmatic decade, "Beehive" celebrates the powerful female voices of the 1960’s with such timeless hits as “It’s My Party,” “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “Where the Boys Are,” “Be My Baby,” “River Deep Mountain High,” “Proud Mary,” “Natural Woman,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” “Me and Bobby McGee” and more..
Audition instructions
To be considered for "Beehive," prepare a one-minute max cut of a 1960’s pop/rock song that features your vocal range. If auditioning for roles that perform the songs of Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin, please sing from those artists' catalogues. Begin your video with a slate that includes your name. Deadline & Callbacks
The deadline to submit your audition materials is Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at 5 p.m.
Callbacks, including dance if necessary, will be conducted via video throughout the months of February and March.
